[Real event] Kamakura Mindfulness Day August 12th (Saturday) August theme: “Life continues even after death - At Obon, where life and death meet”

Life continues even after death - Obon, where life and death meet This time, the 12th is right before Obon. It is a time when many people visit their graves and spend time thinking about their ancestors. It is said that customs that are a mixture of Buddhism, Taoism, and folk beliefs crossed the ocean from the continent and settled in Japan. Even though our views on life and death have changed dramatically in modern times, this custom continues. When we die, does everything disappear and nothing remains? If that were the case, there would be no meaning in funerals, grave visits, and memorial services held every year. What is the meaning of holding incense sticks and joining hands in front of a Buddhist altar or grave, and what is the meaning of praying for the soul's soul?
