Masahiro Fujino

NTT Communication Science Laboratories Research Specialist

After graduating from the Faculty of Business Administration of Kobe University, Masahiro worked for a medical manufacturing company for 7 years. In 2010, he participated in a 10-day Vipassana meditation retreat. During this retreat, he understood through his own experience that meditation benefitted his physical and mental well-being. As he wanted to understand this meditation scientifically and share its mechanisms and benefits with others, he made the decision to leave his job and pursue research on meditation. He got his PhD at division of cognitive psychology in education of Kyoto University. Currently, his research focuses on exploring the neural, physiological, and psychological mechanisms of meditation. He is also actively working to implementing meditations in medical and educational settings to enhance the physical and mental well-being of individuals.
