Ken Mogi

Born on October 20, 1962, in Tokyo, Japan, is a renowned researcher and academic with diverse roles and accomplishments.

He obtained his Bachelor's degrees in Science and Law from the University of Tokyo before completing his Ph.D. in Physics at the same institution. He has held various positions throughout his career, including research work at RIKEN and Cambridge University. Currently, he serves as a Senior Researcher at Sony Computer Science Laboratories and holds the position of Specially-Appointed Professor at the University of Tokyo, where he is affiliated with the Co-Creation Laboratory and the Collective Intelligence Research Laboratory. Additionally, he is a Visiting Professor at the University of Tokyo's Graduate School of Regional Science. Moreover, he serves as the Principal of Yakushima Ozora High School.

Kenichiro Mogi has received several prestigious awards and recognitions for his work. In 2005, he was awarded the 4th Kobayashi Hideo Prize for his book "Brain and Virtuality" (published by Shinchosha). In 2009, he received the 12th Kuwabara Takeo Gakugei Prize for his publication "Now, Here to All Places" (published by Chikuma Shobo). His most recent book, "Qualia and Artificial Consciousness" (published by Kodansha), has been translated and published in 29 languages across 31 countries worldwide.
